Overheard by yosefblog at breakfast this morning:
Dina: The Big Bang killed all the dinosaurs.
Bassie: (with skepticism) Some scientists think.
Note: Let me disclose that, when yb came to me to tell me about this interchange, it took me a second to realize that anything was wrong with that conversation. This makes me think that the two of them should start a lobbying firm. Promoting what? Whatever.

Seems to me she only misspoke by an article- if she’d said a, and such that speech doesn’t discriminate capitals, they’d be promoting truth….imagine!
you left out the rest of the conversation, which reveals even more lobbyist aptitude:
Y: the big bang? didn’t the universe have to exist before the dinosaurs?
B: yeah Dina, you’re wrong, it was a meteor
D: (matter-of-factly) which is also called the big bang
B: no its not!
D: (redirecting) how would turtles and tadpoles have survived a meteor?
(They’ve also both mastered argumentum ad hominem, but illustrative episodes aren’t nearly as cute)
“Didn’t the universe have to exist before the dinosaurs?” So, YB, I wonder if “the universe” and “existence” are direct synonyms in your lexicon. And if so, how does recognizing this change your thinking about your above statement?
