Monday is a momentous day in Eats’ schedule - DAY 1 of training.
My body composition in the spring/summer months is much different than fall/winter. Tom Demerly of Bike Sport Michigan (bikesportmichigan [dot] com) alikens the body transformation after the holidays to “coming out of a tunnel.”
Right now I feel pale, puffy and like I’m wearing a suit made of myself. Low self-body-image. Whenever I hear from a woman that “men don’t get low self-body-image” I have to squint and bite my lip to reign my thoughts.

Right now I feel pale, puffy and like I’m wearing a suit made of myself. Low self-body-image. Whenever I hear from a woman that “men don’t get low self-body-image” I have to squint and bite my lip to reign my thoughts.
The interesting point is that now my game really steps out of almost every realm of physical attractiveness. I am still holding onto my hair as something unique and sexy - which is what gets me out of bed every morning.
Girls I meet won’t know that my body will radically transform over the next 90 days. That the love handles I’m so nervous about showing will melt off, that my face will become more angular and my legs will return to a machine-state. This is, of course, G-d willing - that I am injury-free during my process.
Without knowing that, I’m just a charming, charismatic cherub with a confusing job. Aliterative. We are entering the All Personality Zone. But I’ve been riding that wave for years.
To give you an ideal of the changes:
Over the next 90 days(13 weeks) …
- My weight will drop almost 20 pounds and my body fat will shrink to somewhere around 6% - 7%.
- I will be able to produce unassistated riding speeds over over 20 miles/hr. for over 1 hr. Level terrain, no wind.
- Veins above my hip bones will start to creep out and will be both gross and engrossing.
- On a heavy training day I will burn over 2,500 calories.
- I will be up at 5:00a and asleep by 10:00p.
- If it’s not a whole grain or grilled meat, it may be cast aside. Fruits and vegetables, of course will be allowed.
I will be rebuilt.
