Mr. President: I know that truth can be subjective, based on point-of-view, perception, and prejudice; but come on…

Truth and truth, etc. vs. “No one anticipated the breach of the levees” (spoken by the President yesterday).

I’m not going to be petty and blame the President for the effects of global warming or the diverted troops in Iraq or the slow response to this disaster. But can’t he at least avoid enraging the victims of a disaster (that spans three “red states”) with ignorant platitudes?

I had an idea that this movie involved “adult themes” when I saw the pictures, but what was more shocking than the actual content was the culture gap that the film revealed. Not, as one who has seen the movie might think, between Mexico’s rich and poor, but between the way intimacy is discussed in the United States vs. Mexico (and perhaps all of Central and South America).
